Aer Lingus Selects Vistair’s Safetynet
October 09
Aer Lingus has selected Vistair’s SafeyNet product to further improve safety and enhance data collection across its aircraft fleet.
The Irish airline is rolling out the web-based product initially to flight crew, cabin crew and engineers and then to staff across the organisation.
Vistair is Europe’s leading aviation documentation specialist. Its market-leading SafetyNet product allows the full range of safety reports to be submitted on-line from wake turbulence and bird strikes to disruptive passengers, as well as captain’s special reports and cabin crew reports.
Captain Henry Donohoe, Aer Lingus safety director, said: “SafetyNet will allow Aer Lingus to gather safety information not only from our flight crew but all staff throughout the airline on a user-friendly system.
“Furthermore, it will allow our Safety Management System to produce trend and analysis data for various stakeholders.
“SafetyNet is a valuable tool in support of Aer Lingus’s Safety Management System.”
Aer Lingus has a fleet of 42 Airbus aircraft including A320s and A330s operating short-haul, single economy class services from Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Belfast to more than 60 destinations in the UK and Europe. It also operates a two-class service on its long-haul network from Dublin and Shannon to six destinations in North America.
