Emirates chooses UK's Vistair for cloud-based e-manuals plus "Touch" Read & Sign services
December 11
“The world’s best airline needed the world’s best provider of e-manuals”
Emirates, one of the leading global airlines, has contracted with UK-based Vistair to provide cloud-based technical manuals for its entire fleet, including the world’s biggest number of Airbus A380 super-jumbos.
The new five-year contract following a selection process spanning two years, will provide, manage, and update cloud-based e-manuals for the airline’s fleet of Boeing 777s, and Airbus A330s, A340s, and the new A380s.
Vistair’s founding Managing Director, Ian Herbert, said: “It is especially pleasing that we have been chosen by such a premier league airline after so rigorous a selection process”.
According to Captain Alan Stealey, Emirate’s Vice President of Flight Operations: “We spent more than two years with the sole aim of selecting the best solution for the management of our flight operations manuals. That selection process was very thorough, as Emirates operates to the highest standards as a worldwide airline, and we needed a supplier with the same high standards.
“In a nutshell, we set out to select the world’s best provider of e-manuals for the world’s best airline”, said Capt. Stealey.
“Vistair was the clear choice, as they have a real understanding of airlines and are constantly maximizing the technology. They even deliver added value for our aircraft, supplementing Boeing and Airbus’s software tools”, he added.
The Emirates contract with Vistair coincided with the Dubai Airshow, where the airline announced a multi-billion order for a further 50 Boeing 777 aircraft, that will be included in the Vistair service.
This new contract adds Emirates to Vistair’s fast-growing list of leading airlines that already includes British Airways, BMI, Aer Lingus, easyJet, Flybe, Flydubai, Thomas Cook, and DHL Air.
“It also enables us to expand our UK workforce at a time when advanced technology jobs are under intense pressure”, said Vistair’s Ian Herbert.
