Radio presenter gives Vistair something to be vocal about
May 11
National broadcaster Annie McKie has lent her dulcet tones to a Bristol business’s latest audio briefing for airline pilots.
he recording, commissioned by Almondsbury-based Vistair, which produces online cloud-based flight safety manuals for airlines around the world, took place at Bristol production house Films at 59.
After cutting her broadcasting teeth first at HTV West and later at BBC Radio Bristol, Gloucestershire-based Annie McKie is now a continuity announcer and newsreader on Radio 4.
She has also forged a successful second career providing voiceovers for airline safety systems.
“We needed to record new audio briefings for Adis Ababa and Kathmandu airports and were delighted to be able to get Annie in to do the work,” said Vistair managing director Ian Herbert, who also originally founded BFV which later became part of Films at 59.
“To those who work in the aviation sector her voice is as instantly recognisable as the woman drivers hear when using satnav systems,” he added.
