Touch in use at TAG Aviation
Client: TAG Aviation Based: Farnborough Airport, UK
Based: Farnborough Airport, UK
Services used: Touch Flight Operations, SafetyNet and Airline Documentation
David Brant, Flight Operations Support Manager, TAG Aviation said: “Our vision is that we make things happen - we work hard to ensure our customer’s experience is as seamless as possible.
"Our services are often needed at very short notice so if our crews are suddenly sent to countries as diverse as Kazakhstan or Australia, we need to be able to send relevant information to them.
“We operate like an airline in the sense that we need to keep in regular contact with our pilots and crew. Therefore Touch is an ideal solution for us.”
TAG Aviation began using the Touch Flight Operations portal in November 2008 and was Vistair’s first client for this product.
Touch is an intranet application that provides operational personnel within an airline with access to all essential information. The system allows notices to be uploaded or created and issued to the relevant individuals. Each member of staff can then confirm if they have read and understood the data.
Used in conjunction with SafetyNet and Airline Documentation solutions, Touch can provide one interface which manages all these solutions.
David continued: “Touch allows us to communicate with specific people rather than having to send a message to everyone.”
“In the past, we have used email but this was not satisfactory - there are often too many emails to look through and so the message gets lost. Touch means that we effectively have our own intranet system without the need for a dedicated IT department.”
“We also use Vistair’s documentation service and SafetyNet, which we started using at the end of last year. This is going well and offers huge advantages to the paper based systems we have used in the past. This has already been rolled out to our sub companies in Madrid and Geneva and Hong Kong.”
Ian Herbert, Managing Director, Vistair, said: “Touch provides one stop interface enabling easy communication with other personnel in the company. It is designed to be customised according to the client’s needs if required.”
“The system facilitates different types of notices including mandatory and optional viewing and it also stores activity and generates detailed management reports as and when they are required.
“Only launched in December 2008, Touch is becoming a popular option, now in use in a number of large European airlines.”
